Inter-faith Youth Build 2018 @ Batam
CAMPAIGN HAS ENDED
“As we grow in our consciousness, there will be more compassion and more love, and then the barriers between people, between religions, between nations will begin to fall. Yes, we have to beat down the separateness.” – Ram Dass
Habitat Singapore believes that service toward the underprivileged is a virtue that most (if not all) religious groups in Singapore hold in high regard. As part of their mission to bring decent homes to low-income families across the Asia-Pacific, and as a local charity committed to nation-building, Habitat Singapore seeks to unite different faiths for the common goal of uplifting vulnerable families from poverty.
Our Team
We are an inaugural team of passionate youths from diverse faith comprising Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and a Free-Thinker. Differing in beliefs, but united in our common desire to put our faiths into action, we seek to join hands across faith and borders to construct a new home for a family in Kabil village, Batam from 7 - 8 December 2018 .
Our Goal
Our team targets to raise SGD5,500 in support of not just the project (i.e. local-sourced materials, labour, infrastructure), but also the home-building programme of Indonesia at large, enabling more decent and affordable homes to be built for the community.
If you share the same passion but are unable to join us physically, we invite you to labour in support of us to donate and spread the word of the need for housing worldwide, as well as your well-wishes and prayers for the work we hope to accomplish :)
Please note that donations directed for overseas use are not locally tax deductible. Donating is simple and secure, with an e-receipt generated from GIVEasia for your record.
Thank you for your kind and warm support!
